Gijduvan, a renowned cultural center of the Bukhara region

Gijduvan, a renowned cultural center of the Bukhara region, is celebrated not only for its ceramics, but also for a distinctive school of embroidery with a rich artistic legacy.
This tradition was revived by Mustabshira Barakaeva and is now carried forward by Mavlyuda and Gulbahor Narzullaeva — representatives of a respected dynasty of master artisans.

Gijduvan embroidery is distinguished by its luminous palette and delicate floral motifs, executed with silk threads dyed using natural pigments. The craftswomen embroider on handwoven cotton fabric known as biaz, creating suzani, bedspreads, and refined decorative textiles.

Mavlyuda Narzullaeva has participated in more than one hundred exhibitions in Uzbekistan and abroad. She is a recipient of both silver and gold medals, and her suzani have been awarded the UNESCO Certificate of Excellence, a recognized mark of quality and cultural value.
